Bank of America Emerging Payments & Innovation Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina
Emerging Payments & Innovation has quickly become one of the fastest-growing areas of focus for Bank of America and is critical to delivering our broader strategy to deepen our relationships and engagement with our customers where they work, live and play, while protecting and caring for them. Our enterprise payments strategy focuses on five (5) core areas; 1) creating a dominant position for BAC in person-to-person payments, 2) driving out simpler and safer digital wallet capabilities for customers to use when shopping online, in app or in store, 3) creating new value propositions for consumers and merchants, 4) accelerating the overall payments ecosystem and 5) expanding competitive position for cross border payments.
The Emerging Payments and Innovation Manager is engaged in advancing the Integrated Payments Strategy as well as the individual initiatives that underpin it. This individual will provide strategy development, competitive analysis and project management across Bank LOBs and with outside partners. They will develop and maintain initiative reporting which tracks the process of the Strategy and initiatives, as well a strategic communications. Successful candidate will be a smart, analytical and consultative individual with an executive presence. Individual must demonstrate a passion for learning and have strong research and presentation skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage strategic projects and research within Enterprise Payments with top 3rd Party payment companies, including, but not limited to Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft
Build strong internal and external relationships
Conduct primary, secondary research and competitive analyses (e.g., customer trends, market positioning, competitive intelligence, etc.)
Perform data analyses to drive insights and inform recommendations (e.g., financial modeling, payments/merchant analysis)
Develop compelling, executive-ready presentations - summarizing analyses, findings and recommendations
Develop strategic and analytical frameworks
Evaluate new payment capabilities and models to inform new product decisions
Design and manage employee and customer pilots, establishing clear, measurable success criteria
Quickly learn how key products work and evaluate opportunities for improvement
Knowledge of Financial Services
Experience in Strategy, Consulting, Digital Product Management, Investment Banking or Analytics
5+ years of relevant work experience
Proven strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Prior experience influencing and presenting projects to senior executives
Prior experience driving and managing multiple projects and adjusting to changing deadlines
Ability to conduct business analyses, including market and competitive analyses
Experience in identifying relevant data and collecting such data from public and private sources
Self-starter, high energy and detail oriented; ability to work with minimal supervision in a complex and often ambiguous environment
Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel and able to create executive-level presentations
Knowledge of the payments and commerce landscape
Interest in paying keen attention to current events within our respective industry verticals
Ability to work with new technologies
