Enterprise Finance & Technology

Enterprise Finance forecasts, tracks, analyzes and reports total company and business unit financial results, manages the company’s balance sheet, including funding, capital, and investments; oversees internal real estate needs; drives acquisitions; is responsible for financial controls; leads corporate strategy; and works to deliver simple, safe and sound, innovative and integrated technology services for our customers, business partners, and team members.

The Team

The Enterprise Finance Group reports to the CFO and is responsible for the development and management of Functional Finance Support, Enterprise Planning & Analysis, Management Reporting Data, Forecasting & Reporting Tools, and the Finance Centers of Excellence (COEs), including Cost Allocations, Fee Income Forecasting, Expense Forecasting, and Balance Sheet Forecasting. The Group works in partnership with the Line of Business Finance Group to provide finance support across the enterprise.

The Balance Sheet COE reports to the head of Enterprise Finance and is responsible for supporting activities needed to generate and analyze balance sheet and net interest income forecasts. The team uses a model based approach partnering closely with Line of Business Finance and our Modeling COE. The team is responsible for supporting balance inputs and assumptions related to Asset Liability Management (ALM) interest rate risk scenarios as well as stress test and resolution planning scenarios. ALM uses QRM to support these scenarios.

The Role

The Balance Sheet COE team supports the FP&A 9 Quarter Rolling forecast, interest rate risk scenarios, semi-annual Stress Tests, and Recovery and Resolution Plan balance sheet forecasting.

The Balance Sheet COE team is seeking a Finance Consultant to assist in the coordination, production and analysis of our Wells Fargo Securities balance sheet and net interest income forecasting (including yields and matched maturity cost of funds). The position will specifically support the forecasting of semi-annual stress tests, and recovery and resolution planning process. The position will work very closely with Business Finance, Corporate ALM, as well as the Capital and Liquidity team. The position will also support other line of business trading portfolios.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Support Corporate Regulatory requirements including RRP and CCAR

• Perform a wide range of complex analysis related to balance sheet including liquidity and interest rate risk analysis

• Assess model performance through validation, back-testing, assumption review, and recommendation of ongoing improvements

• Monthly Yield and Volume analysis during the close process

• Help the business support finance teams with ad-hoc requests

• Create management reporting and analysis

The successful candidate will have following experience:

• Demonstrated analytical skills and self-driven desire to investigate and explain variances.

• Capable of interpreting and communicating complex financial data to all levels of management in a clear and concise format.

• Experience with Essbase as well as other Financial Systems

• Detailed oriented, flexible, skilled in problem solving and able to manage multiple projects in a time sensitive environment

• Strong collaboration skills

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics and reporting; or a BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business and 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

  • Ability to successfully operate in a complex and matrixed environment

  • Strong financial modeling skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior

  • Essbase and/or SmartView experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of asset liability or liquidity management software, especially QRM

  • An active Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
