Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This position is on the Financial Crimes Team within Wells Fargo Commercial Real Estate (CRE). Wells Fargo CRE, an industry leader, provides a comprehensive platform of financing and banking solutions to regional and national owners, operators and developers, public and private REITs, and real estate investment management and private equity firms. The CRE Financial Crimes Risk Management team provides risk management support and oversight for the multiple lines of business within CRE.

  • This position will have high visibility with key LOB stakeholders, along with responsibility of program execution to adequately analyze and document our risk in CRE.

  • This SME may also have lead role in training other team members on the FC team.

  • Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of a risk-based compliance program for a business or large functional area with moderate to high risk and complexity to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a comparable area.

  • Consult with the LOB to ensure they are effectively adhering to Corporate BSA/AML/OFAC (Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Assets Control) policies and standards.

  • Provide consistent subject matter expertise to lines of business on BSA/AML regulatory requirements and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Assist with the development of procedures and training related to corporate policies and standards.

  • Perform annual BSA/OFAC Risk Assessment for the LOB, and communicate results and corrective actions to risk leadership.

  • Provide regular updates and escalate significant issues to management.

  • Provide BSA/AML/OFAC compliance risk expertise to business projects and initiatives to assist in identifiying higher risk customer types and risk mitigation controls.

  • Build and manage business line client relationships by providing superior service, ensuring responsiveness, proactively communicating with all areas of responsibility, and being able to adapt well to change.

  • Liaison between CRE Compliance & Operational Risk and Wholesale Risk Management. Will also have key interaction with Corporate Financial Crimes Risk Management Team and Internal Audit.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements./

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: fraud, Bank Secrecy Act, anti money laundering, investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management, or compliance
