_About the Global IT Support Business Analyst Intern Position:_
The Employee and Endpoint Services organization provides 24x7 global support for employees and their endpoint devices. We offer different types of support and are in the process of transforming how we deliver support to a largely remote workforce. Our objective is to provide modern and secure endpoints that simply work, and to ensure a positive customer experience for the internal Oracle Employee.
The intern opportunity is based upon 1-2 week short projects that will expose an intern to the different components of supporting internal Oracle employees, transforming the business, and to evolving our services. A primary manager will serve as a contact and mentor and the engagement overall will provide a breadth of smaller experiments and exposures and the opportunity to add value in both tactical support resolution as well as transformational efforts. Some responsibilities may include creating presentations, knowledge documents, on-line collateral and spreadsheets used for analysis and project findings. And partnering with leaders in our Endpoint and Employee Support Service to drive short-term iterative projects and/or support resolutions. This may involve:
Provide client services and end-user support
Repair damaged or faulty hardware, replace computer parts as needed, perform diagnostic testing on fault hardware, order all needed replacement computer parts. Serve as liaison between Oracle and Apple on all covered/warranty issues.
Install and configure Macintosh and Windows operating systems (OS X) for new hires
Install and configure all required applications; research and troubleshoot problems relating to these applications; upgrade all software applications as needed.
Maintain and update inventory database of all department computers and computer-related equipment, including operating system and application inventory.
Research, procure and deliver all new desktop equipment and software for department.
Shadow support engineers to provide client support and technical issue resolution in person as well as via email, phone and other electronic means (video conferencing, Oracle Social Network).
Participate in continual service improvement on operational issues in client computer systems.
Perform light lifting 40lbs.
_Preferred Education and Experience:_
US Veteran transitioning from active service or Military Spouse new to corporate experience preferred
BA/BS or equivalent life experience and exposure to one or more of these subject areas: Networks and/ or Infrastructure, Organizational Planning, Business Analysis, Business Analytics, Program or Project Management, Communications or related subject areas
Leadership classes or equivalent job experience is desired
Previous customer service or customer service role highly desired
Experience in an IT or technical support role desired
Project management and agile work methods experience is desired
