Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

EIS is part of Wells Fargo's Corporate Risk organization and is led by the Chief Information Security Officer.

An Operational Risk Consultant position is open within the Enterprise Information Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM) Risk and Policy Management (RPM) Team to assist with a focus on monitoring and oversight controls within Enterprise Information Security – Enterprise Access Management (EAM). This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing risk-based monitoring and oversight controls to identify, assess and mitigate any operational and information security risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. This role will help design, implement and maintain sustainable control practices that provide monitoring and oversight for IAM processes.

  • Establish monitoring and oversight controls based on controls documented in controls inventory

  • Evaluates adequacy and effectiveness of controls as they relate to access management policies, procedures and processes;

  • Recommend changes to processes and controls for continuous improvement

  • Direct content development for standardized reporting, control metrics and senior leadership briefings

  • Work with business units and provide operational risk expertise and consulting for project and BAU activities

  • May provide consultation on controls definition as part of the oversight team

  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally to leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • 5+ years of IAM (Identity and Access Management) experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • Meeting facilitation experience in leading discussions that result in consensus and commitment

  • Knowledge and understanding of mitigating security controls (, antivirus, IPS or IDS, email filtering, web site blocking, patching) and how they work in an overall defense in depth risk assessment methodology

  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • 4+ years of experience leading and executing complex technology transformational programs across an enterprise

  • Information Security Frameworks and standards (FFIEC, NIST, ISO) experience

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)

  • Knowledge and understanding of information security policies and control standards governing network security products/tools

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment

  • Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization

  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology governance risk and compliance processes such as; policies, control standards, risk management concepts, or information security

  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

  • Experience conducting root cause analysis for data-driven process-related improvements

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry
