The Oracle Cloud PaaS Architect provides expertise in the design and implementation of Oracle PaaS solutions to extend and integrate with Oracle SaaS solutions such as HCM Cloud. Architects in this role are well versed and have expertise in Oracle cloud technologies available on Oracle Public Cloud. Your responsibilities will include technology assistance and coordination with other teams, ensuring that all technologies work effectively together. You, as the the Oracle PaaS architect, is expected to deliver a complete end-to-end solution between HCM cloud and all PaaS products, but specifically in the Oracle Integration Cloud suite of products, Application Development and Data Management domains of the Oracle PaaS Cloud.

This is a consulting position within IBM GBS. As an Oracle PaaS Architect you will be responsible for:

  • Providing direction and specialist knowledge in designing and implementing Oracle Cloud Based solutions for our clients, specifically around Integration between Oracle SaaS applications and Third-Party Cloud providers, On-Premise Systems and other Cloud Native Systems

  • As a SME, facilitatating design work-shops with clients to understand requirements, formulate options, design solutions and develop them using Agile methods

  • Leading technical teams, both on-site and off-shore, in building high quality solutions to fulfill requirements within planned timelines and budgets

  • Mentoring less experienced consultants in this area

  • Participating in developing reusable assets and other tools

  • Participating in actual solution building

  • Ensuring your skills are at the leading edge to implement the most advanced features of the relevant Oracle cloud products

You should have the following skills:

  • Experience in Oracle cloud technologies with a strong focus on Paas for SaaS Solutions

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end architecture strategies, standards, processes, and tools

  • Experience in the design of high quality architectures that meet customer standards and requirements

  • The ability to build cloud solutions that are scalable, agile and highly performant

  • Can be thought leader and trusted advisor with customers

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and able to cogently present solutions and architecture at different levels

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 8 years of IT experience using Oracle technologies with 2 or more years designing complex, integrated application solutions

  • At least 5 years of experience in Oracle database, Middleware and Java and related technologies

  • At least 6 months experience with the full Oracle Cloud Stack

  • Certified in one or more Oracle PaaS products

  • At least 2 years of experience in Oracle ICS, SOA-CS, JCS, JCS-SX, DBCS, Process Cloud, ADF, Visual Builder Cloud and related technologies

  • At least 6 months experience with Oracle SaaS – specifically HCM cloud

  • Knowledge of infrastructure components, virtualization technologies, database, middleware and applications

  • At least 1 year experience with On Premise solutions, especially in the area of hybrid cloud

  • Technical knowledge in cloud design and development, strong knowledge of current IT and systems technologies and standards

  • Ability to speak to business users, understand their requirements and provide options using Oracle Cloud solutions
