Bank of America Risk Analysis Sr. Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

Responsible for performing complex analysis and is engaged in the development of modeling that maximizes profits and asset growth and minimizes credit and operating losses and other risk exposures. Provides analytical support on various product strategies to ensure company goals are met. Coordinates the production of performance reports for senior mgt. Reviews and analyzes trends in current population distributions and recommends strategies. May participate in or develop complex program models to extract data and use databases to provide statistical and financial modelling.

Candidate may meaningfully contribute to various work streams involving the large scale transition to the Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) approach. Additional projects and analysis may focus on specific end-to-end loss forecasting and allowance related processes or functions.

  • Work with and exposure to senior managers for critical change initiatives involving CECL transition, including contributing to or leading requirements gathering with technology partners to design efficient work processes

  • Concisely escalates and proactively addresses concerns

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • Credit risk background

  • Analytical ability and problem solving skills

  • Strong communication / interpersonal skills; demonstrate initiative and be able to make quick decisions

  • Intellectual curiosity / work independently

  • Willingness to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Ability to multi task and properly prioritize multiple projects

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working on regulatory change projects

  • Understanding of finance, accounting and allowance for loan losses

  • Process design or control background

  • Operational risk / operational excellence mindset

  • Experience with Loss forecasting, modeling, and/or model risk management

  • Experience with CCAR and stress testing

  • Commercial or Consumer product knowledge

  • Database or statistical background a plus
