Eaton Corporation RWDD Distribution and Logistics Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

This position is responsible for effectively planning, directing and coordinating all activities in the Eaton Wiring Devices Distribution Center in Charlotte, NC and for the oversight of RWDD’s overall distribution and logistics function. The position is responsible for achieving efficient use of resources in relation to customer demands and budgets constraints and establishing goals and tracking results as related to RWDD strategic and profit plan goals. This role will research and plan projects to achieve distribution and logistics cost reduction objectives. The Operations Manager has to act as the liaison between customer service, manufacturing, quality assurance, industrial engineering, information services, procurement, executive management, planning, packaging, human resources, accounting and sales and marketing at all sites. This position reports directly to the RWDD Supply Chain Director.

  • Provides warehouse safety expertise and is responsible for improved safety performance in the facility.

  • Coordinates execution for divisional strategies across Eaton’s distribution and logistics network.

  • As distribution subject matter expert, helps RWDD sites to develop and implement improvements based on distribution best practices to improve SQDCI / High 5 results.

  • Deploys ELSS, MESH, and EQS to achieve objectives.

  • A key participate in sales and operations planning providing warehousing expertise to the divisional SIOP process

  • Provides direction for implementation of WM improvements and changes to operational requirements

  • Provides direct support to the Division:

  • Leads specific warehouse service problem resolution, service support, shipping practices, etc.

  • Provides warehouse competitive analysis and option development

  • Oversight and management of warehouse performance metrics

  • Provides leadership in warehouse redesign and flow analysis

  • Oversees warehousing activities to ensure processes and procedures are understood and followed

  • Oversees warehouse compliance for inventory management, cycle counting, product handling, and other services as required by the Division

  • Provides proactive communications and solutions to the Division on logistics and warehousing issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution (MBA is a plus)

  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience working in distribution and inventory control

  • 5+ years experience in the following:

  • Supervising and training of warehouse personnel

  • Managing in an “each pick” environment is preferred

  • Lean and Six Sigma

  • P&L responsibility

  • WMS and SAP systems preferred

  • Change Agent

  • Experience with international distribution networks
