Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Strategic Enterprise Risk Management

Wells Fargo established Strategic Enterprise Risk Management (SERM) to integrate and strengthen our holistic view of risk management and to respond to consent orders and a Risk Target Operating State MRA calling for a more integrated, more holistic view of risk. As a high priority of the Company to resolve, the SERM Strategy and Program Integration Leader has the immediate goal of staffing a highly talented team to enable continued progress against timelines committed to the Board and regulators.

SERM Strategy and Program Integration Manager

This position will support the establishment and development a more comprehensive and integrated approach to risk corporate strategy including integration with the Corporate Strategy function. Working with Corporate and LOB strategists, this position will ensure that strategic planning practices sufficiently incorporate risk management in all aspects of the plan, including market selection, competitive moves, capability development, and strategic transactions.

It will also work with SERM ERP leaders and their teams to ensure the content provided is aligned with the vision of the target state to manage risk and that it addresses the regulatory feedback we have received including ERP program integration. This position will directly execute on high priority regulatory and other deliverables, working in collaboration with ERP, IRM, ECA, WFAS and line of business partners, leading and coaching Wells Fargo team members from multiple departments.

The work will be heavily project-based, will vary over time, and will require the ability to balance multiple competing deadlines and priorities, and to interact with and influence senior executive stakeholders from all areas of the Enterprise. Examples of these projects include:

  • Independently structuring complex problems, identifying and prioritizing the most important issues, breaking the work into stages, and leading / executing the work, including making change recommendations and securing commitment from senior executives

  • Serving as a core member of large SERM initiatives, taking ownership for a particular work stream, and partnering with diverse stakeholders to support improvements to SERM and partners’ practices and performance

  • Providing high quality consulting to SERM and partner executives and leaders, informed by deep strategic, change management and risk management expertise

*Location: *Charlotte, NC or San Francisco, CA highly preferred; other major WF hubs may be considered.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of strategic planning experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience consulting, influencing and partnering with business executives, leadership, human resources partners and peers

  • Ability to consolidate large amounts of project status information to identify key risks, customer impact, financial implications, delays, and issues that pose material risk

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
