Primary Role

This role is responsible for requirements analysis and detailed design of business processes in one or more functional domains, configuration and testing of SAP applications and for related deployment activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze and document business requirements and design solutions for various business process scenarios.

  • Deploys the relevant technology solutions in order to fulfill business requirements, including design frameworks, documentation and proof of concept needs while adhering to documentation, configuration, security, development, and testing standards / guidelines. This includes:

o Create functional and technical specification documents.

o Set up of roles and authorizations.

o Configuration build and initial testing.

o Establishing configuration related to organizational structure, business processes and master data.

o Technical development of RICEFW(s), specific composite, and/or mobile applications.

o Ensuring functional correctness by testing the integration of the solution with other applications.

  • Provides for the day-to-day maintenance of the approved security roles defined in the application(s).

  • Analyzes existing custom developments, objects, modifications and evaluates the impact of changes on them.

  • Provides input for the setup and creation of the individual transports


  • Sound knowledge and understanding of configuration related to SAP FI, CO, TR, SAP industry templates and best practices.

  • Subject matter expertise in Finance business process area using SAP FICO and FICA modules.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of flows of actual values like Transfer of Billing Documents, Order and Project Settlement, Direct Posting from FI/MM etc.

  • Knowledge of Profit Center Accounting & Cost Center Accounting and understanding of Hierarchies, Planning, Accruals, and Actual Postings.

  • Sound knowledge of Allocations, Top-Down Distributions, Assessments, Validation and Substitution Rules

  • Moderate to extensive experience in integration of other functional areas such as SD, MM, PP and other SAP modules with SAP FICO

  • Strong SAP applications functional expertise in SAP General Ledger and transactional sub ledgers

  • Understanding of industry and business unit regulatory environment – GAAP, Tax regulations, etc.

  • Knowledge of Powerplan , Sabrix , Hyperion and SAP BPC

  • Good aptitude for building data analytics using industry leading tools like Power BI, Tableau etc.


  • 7+ years’ experience in SAP functional domain.

  • 3+ years’ experience in Suite on HANA.

  • Ability to gather and analyze internal business requirements by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions with users.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation.

  • Configure SAP modules in line with design requirements as well as peer review designs / configuration from other Functional Analysts in the SAP area.

  • Ability to identify and communicate risks and issues affecting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.

  • Ability to create and maintain testing scripts in SAP Solution Manager.

  • Experience with creating training materials and assisting with user orientation and training.

  • Ability to serve as a liaison between technical, quality assurance and non-technical stakeholders throughout the development and deployment process.

Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience with SAP configuration and support in the FICO area with a concentration on Treasury and experience with at least two full cycle SAP system implementations.


BS /MS in Computer Science , Computer Applications , Information Technology , Engineering or MBA or with strong academic background.
