Primary Role

This role will lead the strategy and design for the storage environment within the Technology & Innovation team, supporting the digital infrastructure of the company. They will develop and support the standards for storage systems. They will also have service delivery responsibilities that involve helping to sustain and optimize the storage environment to ensure that it is designed and managed effectively. This position will be the primary point of contact for the storage environment; providing leadership, delivery and innovation in this area.

Key Accountabilities

System Performance and Design - 20%

  • Drive the effort to ensure efficient and resilient operation of the technology systems and the appropriate designs of those systems.

  • Working with the line of business leaders and industry experts, ensure the plans help 1) reach a consensus about a set of needs and the technologies required to satisfy those needs, 2) provide a mechanism to ensure efficient and resilient system operation and 3) provide a framework to help plan and coordinate system performance metrics, capacity planning, and system designs.

  • Team Development* - 15%

  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.

  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team.

  • Perform as a team of strategic, creative, and technical professionals who partner with our clients to solve business problems and meet meaningful business goals.

Knowledge / Skills

Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the digital infrastructure stack; including compute, storage, virtualization, networking and endpoints.

  • Subject matter expertise in storage environment, including supporting systems and applications.

  • Strong Knowledge of cloud computing requirements, cyber security best practices and data center operations.

  • Ability to serve as a liaison between Converging Infrastructure and system support throughout the development and deployment process.

  • Skills:*

  • Self-starter with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and over the weekend as needed.

  • Subject matter expertise in storage systems; including block, file and object. SAN, NAS, flash, SVC and switching fabric.

  • Sound experience with component level installation, monitoring and maintenance, storage provisioning for data centers; managing storage related servers, software and devices.

  • Expertise in implementing disaster recovery and high availability for critical systems.

Experience:

  • 6 to 9 years of experience with:

  • Storage Administration for a complex enterprise.

  • Storage Engineering for a complex enterprise.

  • Education:*

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or relevant field of Engineering . Master's degree is preferred [equivalent work experience will be considered].
