Position Title TET II Roadway Inspector

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated TET II Roadway Inspector for immediate employment in our Hunt Valley, MD office. the employee will be assigned to the District 2 Construction Office in Chestertown, MD. The appropriately qualified applicant will be assigned to project in the area as an office engineer on bridge and highway construction projects. The employee can look forward to projects including various highway and bridge construction projects in Maryland.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to public works installations and projects
Handling Material Clearance for different projects
Other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent
0-2 years of experience in construction inspection
MARTCP certifications in concrete, soils & aggregate compaction, pavement markings, and HMA or ability to obtain within 6 months
Will also need to obtain the MDE Responsible Personnel Certification card, Temporary Traffic Control/Traffic Manager Certification, and nuclear gauge safety training certification
Candidate will also need to take and pass four SHA Core training certifications
Candidate will need to be able to operate a nuclear gauge and employee must possess a valid driver’s license
Elementary knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and English
Introductory knowledge of elementary engineering methods and techniques
Ability to compute simple engineering data, work from simple plans and specifications, make drawings, tracings, and accurate notes
Understand and follow written and oral instructions and work effectively with others
Ability to communicate effectively and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
Knowledge of basic mathematics used in engineering design, drawings and drafting
Ability to learn to read and understand construction drawings
Ability to learn to write and review contract change orders and also learn to perform minor design work
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Must have good communication skills, oral and written
Must be able to read and interpret plans for construction projects
Provide guidance to contractor personnel on the proper use of Temporary Traffic Control devices/TTC standards
Basic computer skills, MS Office
Excellent time management skills, self-motivator, team oriented
