Position Title Bridge Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Bridge Engineer to join our Chicago, IL office. The appropriately qualified candidate will have opportunities to work on long-span and signature structures with other AECOM offices.
Project ranges from typical grade separation structures and retaining walls to complex curved and skewed bridges.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Primarily office engineering, but may involve field assignments from time to time
Tasks will range from planning, studies, design, and construction engineering with a focus on transportation-related projects
Lead the design and contract package preparation efforts by working directly with other disciplines and clients
Bachelor’s degree in civil (structural) engineering
10+ years of practical experience in a professional engineering related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges
SE license, or ability to obtain the same in next 2 years
PE license in state of IL or ability to obtain via reciprocity
Project Management skills and responsibilities
Ability to communicate clearly, organize correspondence, and document decisions made
Need to be able to perform work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of self-motivation and resourcefulness
Demonstrated ability to develop technical reports, documents, client communication and technical memoranda
Master’s degree in civil (structural) engineering
Railroad engineering experience is preferred
Successful completion of at least three bridge design projects, including EOR responsibilities, including at least one curved bridge
