BMO Financial Group Governance, Risk, and Standards (GRS) Officer in Chicago, Illinois
Description: The GRS Officer is responsible for overseeing I&TR Second Line of Defense activities related to Policies and Standards, Regulatory / Industry Standard Compliance, Methodology & Framework, and Risk & Controls. Key Accountability Outcomes: • Establish and manage Enterprise Information and Risk Management related Policy and Standards. • Monitor and report on organizational compliance to the EI&TRM Policy and Standards. • Ensure alignment of first line policies and standards to EI&TRM Policy and Standards. • Promote effective governance across the Organization by appropriate representation in risk-related forums and the development and socialization of I&TR Policies and Standards. • Ensure teams have contemporary skills and are industry leaders in their respective areas. Responsibilities: • Represents EI&TRM in various committees and forums • Defines the I&TR principles that will be implemented and followed across the Three Lines of Defense • Provides oversight of I&TR Second Line information and technology risk governance processes at BMO including: • Committee setup and operation • Second Line information and technology risk management Policies and Standards development • Legal and regulatory requirement assessment as it relates to I&TR Authorities Accountable for establishing and overseeing Second Line of Defense activities to improve the effectiveness of EI&TRM. Scope & Impact This job contributes to EI&TRM by providing second line management of BMO's efforts to reduce and manage risk.
Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
_ _ • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relevant educational and professional experience">Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relevant educational and professional experience • Archer GRC power user with abilities in workflow activities, applications and questionnaires, reports/workspaces, and use cases">Archer GRC power user with abilities in workflow activities, applications and questionnaires, reports/workspaces, and use cases • Significant experience in risk, control, and governance disciplines • Strong understanding of information and technology risk management and ability to effectively communicate information and technology risk functions to executives • Ability to determine and set the strategic direction and budget of the GRC function • Ability to interact with first line teams and forming independent views on information and technology risk management • Knowledge of risk management Policies, methods, Standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard risk analysis approaches preferred We’re here to help
