Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a marketing specialist to support the Midwest Region marketing efforts, which are dedicated to design excellence and an integrated approach to creative problem-solving. This position will be based out of Chicago, IL AECOM office. This marketing role is an integral part of our company’s marketing network in the Americas and will support the Midwest team, which works on exciting projects across all disciplines including Transportation, Water, Environment, Power and Energy, and Buildings and Places. Core responsibilities for this role include marketing strategy, content development, messaging, and visual storytelling in support of winning new business. Work includes writing and designing presentations and printed proposals and qualification materials in response to formal and informal client solicitations. Our ideal candidate is also knowledgeable about the A/E industry with a solid understanding of key organizations, events and related professions that enrich and support our professional practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of the architectural, engineering, and construction industry and qualifications and proposal processes

  • Produces proposals in conjunction with technical staff, and supports senior proposal managers on complex pursuits. Work involves leading and supporting strategy and kick off meetings, incorporating win themes and storyboarding, coordinating with subconsultants, developing and reviewing content, and creating presentation material

  • Advanced English writing, editing and proofreading skills with a vision towards enhanced marketing messaging

  • Works with diverse teams from junior support staff to experienced business development and technical professionals and senior leaders, both in person and remotely

  • Responsible for tracking progress of assigned opportunities in Salesforce

  • Participates in the maintenance of marketing information, such as project sheets and credentials

  • Undertakes special projects, such as award submittals, as assigned

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Works under general supervision and collaboration with the Midwest Regional Marketing Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, English, or Journalism

  • 5 + years of related proposal and marketing experience

  • Knowledge of transportation and water business, clients, business development practices

  • Ability to strategically work with internal client groups

  • Ability to develop proposal outline, schedule and task assignments for RFPs and RFQs

  • Ability to manage, write and produce time-sensitive proposals, qualifications packages and presentations

  • Effective and personable verbal and written communication abilities with strong follow up skills

  • Strong organizational aptitude and attention to detail with exceptional prioritization skills

  • Intermediate ability in Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud

  • Proficient in MS Office (2010): Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience in Salesforce desirable
