Job Description:

We are seeking a senior Offering Management/Product Management professional to join the IBM Cloud Object Storage Offering Management Team.

The responsibilities of this team include all aspects of Offering Management for the following

  • IBM Cloud Object Storage software used in both the on-premises object storage system and the IBM public cloud object storage service

  • IBM Cloud Object Storage system, for on-premises object storage

  • Ecosystem of applications that use object storage on-premise and in the public cloud

In addition, the team directly supports and works in close partnership with the OM teams for the IBM Cloud public object storage service.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Extensive knowledge of the object storage market and related storage system technology

  • 5+ Years of Product Management experience in storage systems or services

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Effectiveness in a dynamic environment where multi-tasking is required

  • Synthesize research on markets, clients, users, and competitors to define strategy for offering

  • Prioritize identified offering enhancements to produce a clear and compelling offering roadmap

  • Provide market and product requirements to guide development on feature implementation

  • Plan and execute internal and external launches of new release and offerings (product release, sales enablement, marketing)

  • Develop quantitative business analysis to support recommendations

  • Subject matter expert on the market and the offering, with clients, analysts, partners, marketing, developers, and Offering Managers

  • Work closely with executives to meet business goals

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Successful experience managing people (although this position is for an individual contributor and not a manger)

  • Face to face sales, technical sales, and/or engineering experience

  • Knowledge of cloud native application development and the benefits of object storage in that context as well as the needs of application developers

  • Deep knowledge of one or more of the driving applications/use cases for which object storage is essential including backup, archive, data lake/analytics/AI, cloud native applications, content management, and content distribution.

  • Experience creating successful product sales through business partner and digital channels

  • Degree: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required

  • MBA desired
