BMO Financial Group Senior Manager, Business Ops and Financial Management in Chicago, Illinois
This role will develop and execute key capabilities within the US Information Security Business Management Office & execute a strategy to provide support to the operations of the US CISO and Enterprise Information Security Solutions (EISS). The incumbent will design, lead and implement related action plans for the US Information Security Business Management Office as well as the broader Enterprise Information Security Solutions organization.
The Business Management Office will contribute strategic and operational guidance and support; shaping relevant analysis, provide recommendations that are actionable, and effectively communicate key messages to the organization. This role will provide overall support in the execution of the key deliverables from EISS and identify process improvement opportunities to drive business effectiveness and efficiencies across the organization. Incumbent will own the production of the US Business Security Risk Scorecards and associated communication routines.
Finance & Resource Oversight
Provide support to the Information Security financial planning and forecasting process to identify strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats, and develop recommendations for plans to address as well as ongoing controls. Specific focus on providing jurisdictional level reporting through collaboration with Enterprise finance partners.
Partner with the EISS leadership team to develop and execute against an effective resource management strategy to ensure the right resources are available to meet the current needs and future demand. Ensure incorporation of a strategy to build talent and skill within the organization. Provide input on resource allocation among various projects and business units to maximize utilization of resources and achieve delivery and quality business goals.
EISS (Enterprise Information Security Solutions) Operations
Accountable for the key information flow routines for EISS – Monthly Leadership team meetings (all day sessions where each leader must present an update on all open issues, projects, and progress against key deliverables and overall business strategy), Bi-weekly US CISO business briefings, information flow into key committees and other corporate governance routines. Ensure all informational updates coming out of EISS are consistent, accurate, and contain appropriate context.
Facilitate the EISS communication strategy, providing input and oversight to all communication routines including town halls, monthly US CISO corner, and other ad hoc communications. Partner with Enterprise communications team on external communication strategy, leveraging existing community relationships.
Lead and manages large, complex internal events from concept, planning, communications, management, execution to metrics; responsible for all logistical aspects including venue, cost management and suppliers, etc. Work with multiple stakeholders, to ensure that the events are strategically planned and executed flawlessly; and communicate in a clear and effective manner.
Responsible for design, implementation, management and evaluation of risk metrics and performance analytics within EISS to improve the business effectiveness and efficiency, in partnership with EISS leadership.
Lead the effort to develop US Line of Business Security Risk Scorecards through close partnership with enterprise analytics and data resources. Identify appropriate communication channels through partnership with Business Information Security Officers, Chief Information Officers, and EISS leadership. Management of junior business analysts accountable for the data and analytics feeding the scorecards.
Oversight of all remediation activities and issues management within EISS operations – accountable to provide input and effective challenge to EISS leaders to ensure the highest accuracy and quality of data is fed into enterprise communication channels
Knowledge and Skills:
Min. 3 years of Financial Management and Budgeting experience. (Minimum 3 years of experience)
Strong expertise with understanding and working knowledge of a corporate governance model.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills and strong ability to communicate with senior level executives.
Min. 3-5 years of experience with strong knowledge in financial reporting specifically within an Information technology enterprise business unit, and the incumbent must have a strong understanding of how an Information Technology unit interacts with other areas in an organization.
Expert relationship builder in a broad, complex and diverse business areas across the Enterprise
Strong presentation skills with expert ability in creating professional decks in MS PowerPoint for executives and board-level committees.
Excellent data manipulation and analysis using complex formulas in MS Excel.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with project management skills with successfully executing large scale enterprise initiatives and the associated risks/challenges with meet deadlines, manage costs, and impacting and influencing business outcomes, as well handle multiple priorities and with an average of 8-10 projects at any given time.
Strong understanding of Corporate Governance Boards
Working knowledge of key operational risk management principles as they relate to an Information Technology business unit ( i.e. how risk is measured, measure risk , identify thresholds, communicate risks , eliminate risk, mitigates risk , etc…)
3 years of experience in a people leadership role managing at last 3 direct reports
