Oracle User Experience Developer 3-ProdDev in Chicago, Illinois

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.

The Oracle for Startups Strategy and Planning (S&P) team develops the processes, strategies, and tools that make it possible for our program to effectively engage the startup community. The S&P team is looking for an experienced UX designer to create intuitive, resonant experiences for the startups in our program and for internal team members who use our tools for data insights, tracking, reporting and more. In this role, you will be instrumental in all phases of UX design. You will play an integral role in creating project vision and strategy, crafting interactions, developing wireframes, defining the UI and visual design, developing component systems and libraries, and collaborating with the development team to ensure faithful execution of the design in final production.

What You ll Need:

  • Strong understanding of fundamental User Experience principals

  • Proven experience in both interaction and user interface aspects of User Experience design

  • Experience translating user requirements into wireframes, wireframes into prototypes, and prototypes into live properties and applications

  • Proven experience developing and implementing modular component systems

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design and development of online properties and application tools

  • Experience designing for responsive environments across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

  • Strong expertise in the fundamentals of digital development and ability to design in accordance with established technical standards

  • Ability to understand and apply established brand standards and visual design language to new designs

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Entrepreneurship mentality. Must be a self-starter who can manage time well and execute efficiently, based on design direction.

  • Creativity. You re a problem solver who thrives on finding unconventional solutions using established standard components

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript for responsive web design

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

  • Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies
