Marsh & McLennan Workforce Development Project Leader in Chicago, Illinois


The Workforce Development Project Leader is a member of the Talent & Inclusion COE leadership team, responsible for building and delivering strategic solutions to be leveraged by the COE, HR and Business partners to build and prepare Mercer’s workforce for the future. Focus will be on organization design/development, building strategies to skill/upskill/reskill our talent, embedding assessments deeper in the organization to build stronger managers and leaders, identifying sales capabilities, and building and driving effective change management methodologies. The individual will have proven business acumen, be a creative solution developer and problem solver with a future focus and bring strong program management and change management expertise. This is a project based role reporting to the Global Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer, and sits on the COE (center of excellence) leadership team.

Shape Mercer’s workforce of the future as a result of robotics and AI (artificial intelligence) Identify implications for organization design and development shifts Boost Mercer’s digital leadership IQ Bringing the best tools and frameworks to help engage colleagues in organizational changes Strategize and create systemic solutions to upskill and re-skill our workforce due to business shifts and the introduction of AI and Robotics Integrate assessment into the development of our talent pipeline to ensure the workforce and leadership are prepared and best positioned to meet current and future business needs; focus will be on colleagues, managers and leaders Drive effective change management methodologies, bringing the best tools and frameworks to help engage colleagues in organizational changes Build holistic, systemic solutions to enhance our sales effectiveness QualificationsQualifications:

Bachelors degree A trusted consultant providing thought leadership and advice as well as practical tools, resources and solutions Proven examples of solving complex business problems and building innovative solutions in the context of the business strategy Ability to quickly size up a situation, gather detail and data, bring forward an optimal solution (starting with a minimum viable solution and evolving over time with data/feedback) and also be able to implement the solution Both a strategic thinker and doer- capable of flawless execution Builds solutions in the context of the business strategy Leverages and integrates resources in the COE, in HR and in the business for input, testing and implementation 3+ years of program and project management skills with process improvement expertise (Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent) Change management expertise to apply a change lens to the design, development and delivery of the work Proven innovative problem solver Future focused, problem solver, creative solution developer Comfort and experience with virtual working is a requirement for success Willingness to be hands-on in getting the work done as needed and able to identify, leverage and manage resources from multiple sources, including the business, to get the work done. This role works closely with the COE Relationship Managers, business and HR leaders to maintain an understanding of the business’ evolving priorities in order to develop solutions on the implications of those priorities on required workforce capabilities. They should be seen by HR as a subject matter expert and a consultant providing thought leadership and advice, as well as practical tools, resources and solutions. In addition, this position will contribute to the execution of additional key COE initiatives or projects as needed.
