Head of Communication & Branding for International CSM organisation

This position will drive a fully integrated communications agenda to build, promote and protect Oracle’s CSM brand and reputation across the International EMEA & Asia Pacific regions. The role will create, integrate and execute communications programs to support the business and provide strategic communications counsel in delivering consistency of communication.

As a key role within Oracle’s International organisation, this position will report directly to the Strategic Planning, Business Operation & Communication leader for EMEA & JAPAC.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Set the communications strategy for CSM International group in line with Oracle’s overarching business priorities to establish Oracle international CSM as the global market leader in Cloud CSM.

  • Provide expert counsel in combining traditional and social communications programs into a single cohesive approach to build credibility and demonstrate leadership

  • Drive measurable collaboration across Corporate Communications, Sales, Field and Brand Communications to ensure key communications plans, narratives and content deliverables are used to maximum effect

  • Assess and deliver robust multi-channel media and social customer engagement programs with a focus on content, placement, engagement and value

  • Identify and help shape interactions with Oracle international influencer communities by surrounding them with a dynamic flow of news, opinion, commentary and expertise

  • Help shape the crisis management and response plans for Oracle’s communications

  • Lead the INTERNATIONAL PR & Communications team providing strong engagement, guidance, mentoring, counsel and management. Build and drive best practice capability amongst local Communications teams

  • Direct, shape and manage PR agency resources to create successful integrated campaigns supporting priority audiences – CEO, CIO, CMO, CHRO, CFO – and the broader Oracle brand

  • Personally deliver core exec platforms/interviews and other opportunities for Oracle’s key in-region executives

Skills & Competencies

This role will be filled by an outstanding professional, passionate about communications with drive, initiative, a curiosity for the next wave of communications, a focus on delivering results and with 10 years’ experience.

He/she will have excellent strategic planning skills, a solid understanding of the B2B technology industry and proven corporate communications and social media expertise. Experience of working within a global enterprise and influencing senior management in a dynamic environment are essentials and a high degree of personal leadership, initiative, collaboration and written communication skills are essential.

Profile

  • Established cooperate communications professional that understands PR is one critical piece but also the need for tight integration across internal, customer and partner audiences to connect to end audiences

  • Has a strong sense of urgency, a ‘get-it-done’ approach and a hussle that drives them and their team forwards

  • A strong leader who is able to build trust amongst team and stakeholders, explain strategy and then help implement it

  • Good judgement to understand when to respond, take legal advice or bring in other team members on changing stories

  • Good campaign creator who can manage multiple concurrent programs

  • Experienced in networking internally and building relationships with senior stakeholders

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change, a self-starter as well as a strong team leader

  • The ability to travel will be required

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Development of communication programs to promote Oracle's products & services.

Direct all marketing activities within the context of the overall corporate plan for the achievement of short and long term business objectives, increased profit and market control. Be an active member of the global Marketing team to ensure consistency of marketing campaigns and messages. Disseminate key corporate information to the line-of-business and geography operations pertaining to new product development/launches. Act as a liaison with management to ensure that marketing activities are in support of sales plans. Direct marketing resources and budget to be deployed using the most appropriate marketing mix for the line-of-business and/or geography. Ensure consistency between global directions and single-geography and/or line-of-business implementation choices. Implement and monitor advertising campaigns on a line-of-business and/or geographical basis. Maintain necessary contact with major suppliers, agencies, customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve marketing objectives. Provide effective performance management: set clear goals for all staff, provide regular feedback on performance and conduct a formal appraisal at the conclusion of the fiscal year. Manage the activities of the staff according to overall marketing strategies and budgets. Implement organizational changes in line with changing business & market needs.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Software business management experience. Sales and Marketing experience in the IT industry. E-business Internet practical know-how. Professional credentials in Marketing, Academic credentials desirable. Past experience in Sales desirable.
