Sr. Analyst – Payments Portfolio Management

About the Job

As part of Key Bank s Risk plan, we are creating a payments portfolio risk management team within the Enterprise Payments business. This group will focus on ensuring that we have heighten awareness around payment risk activities and that we are maximizing the return we receive when we take payments risk. This is an opportunity to influence risk, pricing and portfolio management strategies by providing meaningful data-driven insights to improve business across our new & existing commercial client base. This role will work our sales, risk and product across the organization to identify best practices in risk management and increase Key s profitability through analytics driven portfolio optimization. The right candidate will have a blend of financial acumen and technical skills, which together will enable them to drive and influence fact-based decision making with senior leadership across different lines of business. They are comfortable navigating, partnering and communicating in a large organization and across many different stakeholders.

Job Functions

  • Build out the framework to maximize return on risk for payment products

  • Help identify the right stakeholders for the creation of a portfolio governance process

  • Work closely with internal partners, including Payment Advisors, Relationship Managers, 2 nd line Risk and Product Management to support best in class risk management and portfolio strategies, including modeling client & bank impact to ensure pricing outcomes balance risk and return

  • Support process development and communication efforts to ensure internal engagement models and process flows align with business strategy

  • Develop and maintain analytically based portfolio management strategies and tracking metrics to drive profitable client growth

  • Develop metrics and forecasts which correlate with profitability drivers

  • Partner with Product Management and Sales to create and implement standardized portfolio management processes

  • Support client profitability profiling and benchmarking efforts by industry and segment


  • Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Economics, Information Management preferred or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years of experience in business analytics, financial modeling, strategy, or consulting

  • Experience with SAS, Python or other advanced statistical based software

  • Proficient SQL programing with large databases a plus

  • Experience with Tableau

  • Advanced experience in Excel and creating data graphs/visualizations

  • Ability to synthesize, create and communicate clear analytical studies in PowerPoint

  • Strong critical thinking combined with business intuition and intellectual curiosity

  • Ability to simulate mathematical/statistical models
