SBA Communications Director of Operations - South America in Colombia, Colombia

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop and assist Country Managers along with other in- market managers to operate in the most efficient and productive manner.

  • Focus and drive business development initiatives across the region by working with Country Managers along with the Boca HQ Business Development and Mergers & Acquisition teams.

  • Support regional Mergers & Acquisition efforts, including sourcing, negotiating, due diligence, signing of contracts and closing for any transaction where SBA is purchasing existing assets (towers, rooftops, etc.).

  • Work with the Country Managers on designing and implementing strategic sites and small cells, focusing on BTS backlog increase and diversity.

  • Create incremental efficiencies throughout the existing SBA Latin America markets in different operating areas of the business.

  • Liaison with Boca HQ Legal, Finance, Taxes, HR and other areas to ensure sharing best practices, processes and procedures with the region. Responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance of such processes.

  • Oversee capital and expense budget preparation, track and report performance against approved budget.

  • Support annual budget process and quarterly forecast for all markets.

  • Work with Human Resources to proactively manage resources in the region.

  • Support new business opportunity modeling for mergers & acquisition deals.

  • Work closely with the Vice President International Operations to ensure standardization and consistency across all markets.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing South America Country Managers, in order to help them achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Hire, train, develop and supervise Country Managers and local team in general.

  • Provide development plans for staff as needed.

  • Counsel and terminate staff as deemed necessary in conjunction with Human Resources.

Education and/or Experience:

  • College degree in related field.

  • 10+ years’ experience in the wireless / telecommunications business, with experience in Latin America region required.

  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to work with MS Outlook, Word and Excel, and the Internet.

  • Ability to travel extensively.

Language Skills:

  • Must be fully bilingual (Spanish/ English).

  • Ability to read and interpret reports and documents in English and Spanish.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers in region and Corporate Headquarters.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid country Driver’s License.
