Oracle Sales Director in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Overall responsibility for the regions sales, third party alliances, and customer satisfaction. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy that maximizes Oracle's opportunities across all products and product lines.

Manages and develops a team of sales representatives including recruiting, hiring, and training new reps on the Oracle sales process. May manage a Regional Manager or Branch Manager. Sells and promotes the sales of Oracle products to customers including negotiating price, other concessions and terms and conditions of the sale. Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the division. Builds working relationships with license, consulting and education field managers in the respective territory to develop joint account plans. Develops and execute a territory plan to maximize revenue. Generates and achieves monthly territory forecasts, and accurately predicts revenue on a monthly basis. Manages escalation. Conducts weekly progress meetings with sales team.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations important. 5 or more years sales or sales management experience within technology industry. Ability to hire and train new sales representatives. Ability to resolve customer satisfaction issues. Demonstrated leadership skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to large and small audiences. Ability to negotiate price, other concessions and terms and conditions. Strong quantitative, analytical and conflict resolution abilities.

Oracle is seeking an experiencedSales Director to help us continue hyper-growth of our IaaS and PaaS offeringsand the world s only Autonomous Database. The Cloud Sales Specialist Team is critical to driving deeper workloadfocus in alignment with our Field Sales Organization with a goal to build acommunity of delighted cloud customers powering their business with Oracle. Theleader of this team will lead a team of Cloud Sales Specialists focused onstrategic Oracle customers in the US. She/he will be an integral part of the North American Tech leadershipteam.

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud-related activities such asdata management, infrastructure optimization/modernization, applicationdevelopment and helping customers develop a long-term IT strategy.Responsibilities will include building and leading a sales team focused on drivingrevenue, adoption, and market penetration in a large territory across multipletime zones. The ideal candidate will possess a sales background with a strongtrack record of performance with engagements at the CxO level, manage aregional sales pipeline, and lead sales efforts. She/he will engage with ourinternal sales, solutions architects, partners and professional servicesorganizations to drive large and highly complex opportunities to closure.She/he will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically andanalytically about business, product, and technical challenges with the abilityto build and convey compelling value propositions while workingcross-organizationally to build consensus.


Qualifications

  • 3 years management experience in Pre-Sales/SalesConsulting/Technical Sales Overlay

  • Experience selling PublicCloud infrastructure or strongly related servicesat companies such as Google, AWS, Azure, Chef and Ansible

  • 5 years enterprise direct sales experience with large quotasand proven success

  • BS from a major university engineering or computer sciencepreferred

  • Strong public speaking ability with desire to train others

  • 5 years experience navigating long sales cycles in a matrixenvironment with demonstrated experience in complex commercial structures

  • Practical understanding of topics surrounding RegulatoryCompliance, Security, and Data Governance

  • Experience selling outsourcing solutions or services toVertical Industries (Financial, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Telecom, etc.);specific knowledge of business drivers and adoption patterns will be givenspecial consideration

  • Demonstrated ability to influence different buying personas(IT, Operations, Development, etc.) within the Fortune 1000 enterprise

  • Expert understanding and the ability to effectivelyevangelize multiple cloud adoption patterns including Hybrid, Data Center andApplication Modernization,Re-Platforming, Cloud Native, Web-Scale and High-Availability

  • Practical understanding of the concepts surrounding DevOps,Continuous Integration, Micro Services and their impact to organizationalchange
