Job Description

CACI is seeking Network Engineer SME, to translate government requirements into project plans from configuration to deployment and sustainment for a particular IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems).

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Assists other project members with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture; networking; telecommunications; automation; communications protocols; risk management/electronic analysis; software; life-cycle management; and modeling and simulation.

  • SMEs are authorities on past and current technologies necessary for mission success in hostile areas

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have a current TSI / SCI w/ FSP.

  • Translates Government requirements into project plans from configuration to deployment and sustainment for a particular IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). Assists other project members with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture; networking; telecommunications; automation; communications protocols; risk management/electronic analysis; software; life-cycle management; and modeling and simulation.

  • SMEs are authorities on past and current technologies necessary for mission success in hostile areas. A bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is required.

  • Six (6) years' experience, in collection, processing and distribution Technology.

  • Ten (10) years’ experience in collection, processing and distribution technology can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree and six (6) years’ experience.

  • Six (6) years of demonstrated experience is required in all of the following: the configuring and maintaining at least four high end Cisco products such as: CISCO 1004 ASR; Cisco 1006 ASR; Cisco 7600 routers; Cisco 6500 switches; Cisco 3900 routers; Cisco 3800 routers Cisco 3700 switches; Cisco 3800 switches; Cisco 3900 switches; Cisco call manager 4.1 or higher, Cisco Unity. Experience in network management and performance monitoring tools such as: Cisco Prime, WhatsUpGold, HPNA, NetCollector, and NetPlanner. Must have experience in HAIPE encryption. Experience in at least one of the following: Wireless (e.g. WiMAX), Point-to-point (e.g. Microwave) and SATCOM (e.g.VSAT) communications systems. OR

  • All facets of Optical communications including SDH/SONET/ DWDM/10G technologies. OR Mailorder, NIFI, JNTDS, Monitoring Tools (WUG, Network Analyzer), IP Acceleration. OR

  • Capability Deployment Management Process, TEMP planning and execution, NSA IS Security and Accreditation, Acquisition Logistics Support Planning, ITAR. OR Power Space and Cooling Analysis, Secure Fiber (CAT[X] single-mode, multi-mode), Power systems (generators, solar, UPS Backup), Cooling and Heating, Security, IC Standards (ICD 506).
