Summary: The Strategist is pivotal in helping our clients achieve bold and meaningful products through vision crafting, communications, and strategic implementation. The Strategist works in close coordination with ADG’s customers to discover, analyze and communicate their needs, apparent and latent, including their aspirations and inhibitors; determine core insights and translate those into actionable project input for the design and development teams.

  • Discover, analyze and communicate the customer's needs, apparent and latent, including their aspirations and inhibitors; determine core insights and translate those into actionable project input for the studio and development teams.

  • Maintain positive and service-oriented relationships with ADG’s client base and manage all communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Interface with clients, stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to gather all content required for production/execution of projects.

  • Help clients rethink their business objectives, and at times their values and mission, and work with design teams to express those elements in a compelling way.

  • Leverage insight and ideation from ADG employees, research, and industry to solve client’s complex challenges.

  • Partner with ADG’s design, development, and project management teams to ensure projects are carried out “on brand,” on schedule, and within budget.

  • Utilize a knowledge of and passion for research to extract consumer insights and goals.

  • Work closely with ADG clients to present creative concepts and provide appropriate pushback when needed. This includes managing client expectations and ensuring ADG’s alignment to their business goals.

  • Research, write, refine, maintain and function as quality control for project content.

  • Act as a proactive problem-solver regarding project-related issues, including resourcing, budgets, space/logistics, and deadlines.

  • Provide less-seasoned strategists with an understanding of best practices, key capabilities, and previous success/failures.

  • Navigate client organizations, including executive-level government clients, to assess readiness for change, facilitate key decisions making, and advise on how to successfully implement projects.

  • Identify key opportunities from the client and evaluate the appropriate communications solution and how it can address their objectives.

  • Track the latest industry trends and proactively apply this knowledge to our client’s communication challenges.

  • Liaison between the customer and ADG team is invaluable to our process.

  • Lead teams and clients through research analysis and synthesis.

  • Gather and distil the most important insights and link them together in frameworks or principles that inspire design

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience

  • Experience with collegiate-level research

  • Experience working with, and presenting to executive-level clients

  • Active TS/SCI w/ FS Polygraph Clearance

  • Ability to connect insights to design - Translate insights into opportunities and be enthusiastic about working with cross-disciplinary teams to design, develop and iterate ideas.

  • Ability to plan, build and manage a variety of projects

  • Ability to juggle a variety of concurrent initiatives

  • Ability to build relationships with clients, leadership and teams

  • Ability to manage small cross-discipline teams

  • Ability to maintain poise under pressure - An innate ability to juggle multiple deadlines, handle difficult clients, deal with conflict resolution, address problems with simple and efficient solutions, all while maintaining poise and professionalism.

  • Ability to edit large amounts of text down to a tight, well written story is essential.
