Aviation Maintenance Technician Intern - Summer 2020
Our Global Integrated Services Aviation team strives to enhance executive and employee productivity by providing safe and efficient aviation services that fuel our business success. Our fleet consists of three Gulfstream G280’s operated under FAR part 91 and one Embraer ERJ-135 operated under FAR part 125.
We have a team of pilots and aviation maintenance technicians to support our mission.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Aviation Maintenance Technician Intern to work with the Cummins Aviation Maintenance group, in daily maintenance activities on Cummins Inc. aircraft to assure they are airworthy with minimum out-of-commission time.
Assisting with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per manufacture requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations.
Preparing aircraft for flight with coffee, ice, catering, etc.
Assisting with post flight inspections on returning aircraft.
Assisting with movement of aircraft in and out of hangar.
Assisting with aircraft servicing such as oil, hydraulic, water, nitrogen, oxygen or fueling of aircraft. Assisting with engine runs and taxiing of aircraft.
Assisting Maintenance Manager and Technicians with maintaining and organizing proper records of all maintenance activities; maintaining administrative records for Computerized Maintenance Program ( CMP ).
Assisting with stockroom duties related to shipping and receiving functions.
Learning and applying appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work.
Interfacing with passengers, suppliers and other functions.
Learning and complying with all safety policies and procedures.
Assisting with proper maintenance of the hangar facility.
Learning and applying FAR’s, OSHA and fire prevention codes, airport regulations and safe working practices.
Learning proper fire extinguisher operations.
Performing other tasks assigned by Manager, i.e. handling luggage, assisting passengers, pick-up or delivery of aircraft parts, etc. and other miscellaneous duties as required to get the job done.
Willing to work overtime as needed when troubleshooting or repairing an aircraft.
Assisting with launching of aircraft.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelor’s program candidates should have completed their junior level classes in an accredited program in Aviation Technology or similar degree program.
TradeSchoolor Associate Degree candidates should have completed their general courses.
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
Prefer First Aid/CPR/AED qualified.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
