The HVAC Trade Specialist will be responsible for checking all HVAC and refrigeration repair and replacement proposals and quotes submitted by vendors, to ensure pricing and duration of repairs are within industry standards to achieve best possible ROI on all repairs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and evaluate all repair and replacement proposals and quotes through fmPilot (software application) specific to commercial settings.
Utilize trade/field experience to identify pricing errors, overcharges, and proper breakout to help control/monitor repair costs.
Review refrigeration installation and design specifications and make recommendations to ensure optimal performance.
Communicate with service providers, account managers, energy management technicians, and clients.
Review and respond to work orders in a set time frame.
Responsible for pricing and mark up of quote to insure profit margin is appropriate.
Review work order history of location for prior system providers.
Develop internal and external partnerships and utilize influencing skills to secure best service at best cost to the client.
Foster both client and service provider relationships while achieving the desired results of controlling expense.
Maintain detailed records of activities, completed work orders, and track financial savings.

Advanced engineering principles and practices. Ability to improve job costs through negotiation with vendors. Ability to conduct research to ensure accuracy of all estimates. Ability to recognize cost-saving opportunities and provide alternate options when needed. Workflow comprehension. Proficiency in preparing work orders, trade documents, e-mail communications. Well-developed problem solving skills. Self-motivated and detail oriented. High sense of urgency with ability to meet deadlines. Adaptable to an ever changing environment. Strong multi-tasking ability. Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products. Listens and communicates effectively with a diverse group of people. Candidates must be willing to work schedules based on the client operating hours, which may include evenings, holidays, and weekends. Specific information will be provided by the recruiter. May require occasional overnight travel to visit customer locations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School education or GED equivalent required. Bachelors’ degree preferred. (Facility Management, Construction, Engineering). 5-10 years commercial HVAC estimating, design, and layout review. Understanding of HVAC cycle, superheat and sub-cooling. Energy Management Systems (EMS) and/or automation systems experience. Trade experience, preferably in: The principles, methods, materials, and tools used in the HVAC/R trade, the hazards and precautionary methods, the theory and practical applications of commercial and solid state electronic control systems, the functions and mechanics of HVAC/R systems
