Summary:

The Quality Con trol/ Safety Manager will develop, implement, manage and maintain effective Quality and Safety policies and procedures that meet contract requirements and the criteria for ISO compliance in all areas as well as company and government safety requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Prepare, maintain, enforce, and update quality control plans to drive performance using ISO 9001:2008 standards across the program and compliance with ISO 14001 standards.

  • Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.

  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.

  • Analyzes the nature and cause of errors to identify areas needing improvement in the department’s processes and systems.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and resolves contested case reports.

  • Serves as a liaison with staff and management concerning error trends and problem areas.

  • Establish program objectives performance goals and assess progress;

  • Establish operational metrics/key indicators for process control and on-going quality process improvements;

  • Conduct root cause/corrective action analysis.

  • Will apply analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience performing quality control in an industrial/technical environment.

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in administrative, professional, analytical or other work related to International Organization for Standard (ISO) 9001 program or operations is also required.These can be concurrent time periods.

  • ISO 9000 Lead Auditor qualification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess knowledge to maintain a quality management and environmental system in accordance with the applicable industry and ISO Standards as applicable.

  • Must have broad knowledge of Army logistical functions.

  • Must also have the ability to analyze, develop, evaluate, advise or promote improvements in logistical programs.

  • Must possess the appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Deltek.

Work Environment:

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
