Position Title Environmental Due Diligence Specialist

The Design Services Consulting Group (DCS) of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented environmental due diligence professional to support our mergers and acquisition and property management client base.This position will be approximately 70% office and 30% field work. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of environmental due diligence practices/standards, e.g. ASTM E1527-13, agency interaction and file review, environmental field sampling, EHS compliance review, client interaction, report preparation and excellent client/peer communication skills. This position has a great potential for career growth. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers and scientists that are responsible for environmental due diligence, reporting, and environmental field sampling/monitoring in the Northeast Region with emphasis in Pennsylvania and with opportunities in Delaware and Southern New Jersey.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform environmental Phase I and Phase II assessments (ESA’s) per ASTM and AAI standards to private and public sector clients
Perform implementation activities for Phase I ESA’s, prepare safe work plans, conduct agency file reviews and prepare Phase I ESA reports for commercial, industrial and public sector clients
Perform implementation activities for Phase II ESA’s including environmental field sampling (soil and groundwater), interpret laboratory results and prepare Phase II ESA reports for commercial, industrial and public sector clients
Assist in assessment and evaluation of asbestos containing materials (ACM). Lead-based paint (LBP) and mold on behalf of clients. Assist in preparation of environmental plans, permits and reporting in accordance with USEPA and State requirements
This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of AECOM
Bachelors in environmental science/engineering, biology, chemistry, geology or demonstrated equivalent
2+ years of professional experience in environmental due diligence assessments, environmental compliance reviews, ACM, LBP and mold related to private (commercial, industrial, power, oil/gas, rail and manufacturing) and public sector clients.
Must be able to learn and effectively use environmental and safety monitoring equipment
Experience in environmental sampling and waste management is a plus
OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training
A general understanding of USEPA and PA environmental regulations
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Familiar with Applicable ASTM and AAI standards and environmental sampling
General knowledge of USEPA Resource Recovery Conservation and Recovery Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, US DOT HM-181, PADEP Act 2, PA Residual Waste, Stormwater and Tank Systems is a plus
Experience in environmental compliance is a plus
