AutoZone Sr. Commercial Analyst in Corporate Office, United States

Position Summary:

The Sr. Analyst will perform exploratory data analysis to identify potential influential variables or relationships, and present results effectively to support strategic Commercial initiatives. She/he will be responsible for working cross-functionally with Sales, Merchandising, Marketing, Pricing and other functional areas to achieve common objectives. The Sr. Analyst will be able to provide guidance on findings and implications, and be capable of explaining these findings to internal customers. A high level of accuracy on all data analysis is expected, as well as a desire to continue to learn new approaches, techniques and best practices. This team member will explore, develop and implement customer behavior prediction tools to improve profitability and customer service across all our brands.

Job Responsibilities- Other duties may be assigned:

Works with multiple analytical tools (SAS, APT, etc.) to analyze sales trends, category performance, marketing impacts and various tests

  • Develops automated reporting and ad-hoc analysis as needed

  • Trains and coaches other analysts as well as monitoring projects for completion and accuracy

  • Works on cross functional teams to support commercial initiatives

Skills and Requirements:

Proficiency in querying complex data warehouses, and aggregate data for strategic reporting using SAS is desired

  • Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are needed

  • Presentation of findings, including recommendations to key stakeholders

  • Ability to work well with multiple levels in the organization

  • Ability to conduct analyses with relative autonomy

  • Strong analytic and quantitative reasoning and enjoy problem solving

  • 3+ years in analysis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • B.S. or MA/MS in Statistics, Economics, Finance or equivalent field

  • Ability to work with both database team/users as well as team members to ensure overall understanding of functional operations of the system and how they contribute and enhance the strategic goals of the organization
