Job Summary

Provide Corrosion Control support for aircraft and support equipment at the highest quality and safety standards in accordance with applicable technical directives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Coat surface of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices.

  2. Remove old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper. Smooth surface with sandpaper and steel wool.

  3. Roughen aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface.

  4. Mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted. Paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils.

  5. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Five (5) years actual and recent aircraft, or related weapons systems experience desired; three (3) required.

  • Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance mandatory.

  • Knowledge of the scope and limitation of various categories of maintenance and their application to the contract unit required.

  • Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
