  • Women's Health Center Corpus Christi Medical Center is currently looking for an Infusion Nurse at our campus. Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation, coordination, and planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, physician's orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards of care/practice, and regulatory agencies. Demonstrates and inspires confidence, credibility, adaptability and autonomy. Supports the Corpus Christi Medical Center’s vision, mission and values.

  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of assessment, reassessment, development and implementation of the patient’s plan of care, in accordance with the department’s/unit’s standards.

  • Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect.

  • Prioritizes and delegates patient care activities based on accurate patient assessment and staff capabilities.

  • Evaluates patient’s response to the Plan of Care, communicates to members of the health care team, and implements necessary changes to care.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the specific conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies for the specific patient population of the Department.

  • Utilizes restraints with appropriate justification and documentation with regard to patient safety.

  • Administers medications, IV therapy, TPN, blood and blood products in a safe manner, adhering to medical center’s policy and procedure.

  • Demonstrates awareness of responsibility and accountability for completion of assignments and delivery of safe, effective and appropriate care in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Assesses, collaborates, and coordinates the patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the health care team.

  • Communicates and documents, in an accurate and timely manner, the patient’s care and the response to care.

  • Continuously improves service outcomes that impact patients and customers by awareness of the process design, measurement, assessment and commitment to improvement that is consistent with the hospital mission, vision and scope of service statements, with a commitment to excellence.

  • Supports and participates in the organizations’ Continuous Quality Improvement Program. Demonstrates participation in the Care Council.

  • Participates in meetings, committees and continuing education to improve both individual and organizational performance.

  • Provides constructive input, suggestions & support to foster process improvement within the department.

  • Communicates problems, workflow, opportunities for improvement, and other relevant issues to supervisor or others as appropriate. Requirements:

  • 1-3 years prefer experience in Oncology, will consider specialty experience

  • 2-Year / Associate Degree

  • Current TX RN license or compact license

  • Chemotherapy certified
