For this particular Product Manager position, your role will be more focused on providing product directions around distributed computing and data lake technologies.

Within the Oracle Autonomous Data Science Cloud team, you will

  • Develop overall product strategy based on measurable business value that aligns with overall strategy of the Oracle Autonomous Data Science Cloud

  • Research the competitive landscape and conduct user interviews at customers and prospects to determine market needs

  • Develop an aggressively prioritized product roadmap by collaborating with engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders

  • Lead the complete product development lifecycle in an agile environment from user-story driven product requirements to product delivery

  • Enable internal field sales and support organizations for new releases or product launches through documentation and training

  • Plan and execute product announcements and help coordinate alpha/beta testing of new releases

  • Drive internal and external adoption of our technologies

  • Help build, coordinate, and maintain relationships with key customers

  • Present the product vision and demonstrate capabilities to customer C-suite and at large-scale conferences

Must-have qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in a product management role on a product serving enterprise Fortune 100 companies, OR 3 years of practical experience solving data engineering problems at scale

  • B.S. in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Economics, or another quantitative field

  • Deep understanding of the data science and machine learning space

  • Experience with distributed systems (“Big Data”) in the machine learning sphere: Hadoop and any of its commercial versions (Cloudera, Hortonworks, Mapr). Experience with Spark is a must.

  • Experience with container technology (Docker) and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes

  • Experience building data lakes in the cloud or on premises

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Passion for building outstanding products

Additional desired qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D in a quantitative field, or MBA

  • Experience leading teams using an Agile software development methodology

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills. You should be comfortable presenting to C-level executives, research analysts, as well as speaking at major conferences.

  • Expertise with Python and machine learning libraries

  • Expertise delivering deep learning models trained with TensorFlow, Pytorch, mxnet, or others

  • Experience training and deploying models on GPUs and/or experience with high performance computing technologies

  • Experience with Kubernetes-native distributed training technologies, such as kubeflow or dask

  • Experience deploying scalable machine learning models as RESTful web services

  • Contributions to open-source projects or impressive Kaggle profile

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
