Oracle Senior Principal Product Manager, ISV and Channels in Culver City, California

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive consideration, adoption, and usage through positioning and content, targeting the ISV and professional services markets

  • Deliver high quality product content for key channels to market (direct, indirect, online)

  • Collaborate intensively with partners and other Oracle product teams to deliver cohesive solutions with clear value

  • Influence Sales and Marketing as needed to maintain high quality and consistency

  • Work closely with Product Management, Development, and Marketing to continuously improve customer engagement and simplify the customer journey

Skills

  • Can succinctly articulate a compelling vision for infrastructure as a service

  • Has a strong theoretical and practical understanding of infrastructure as a service technologies and customer needs (particularly independent software vendors, professional services, and their end users)

  • Demonstrates strong writing and creative skills. Demonstrated ability to explain technical material to both technical and business audiences. Experience creating content including, but not limited to the following formats: presentations, websites, landing pages, blogs, videos, architecture diagrams, white papers, and technical case studies.

  • Has enough technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure services and distributed systems to effectively collaborate with internal and external engineering teams

  • Possesses strong business acumen in the context of Internet-based services to effectively engage with business leaders, analysts, press, and Oracle leadership

  • Has a demonstrable ability to analyze and act against existing and rapidly changing business needs

  • Can advocate, articulate, and balance the needs of both technical and business stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in product management for enterprise infrastructure software, IaaS, PaaS, and/or SaaS

  • 4 years of experience in an enterprise ISV or professional services go-to-market function

  • 4 years of experience in the cloud infrastructure, storage, virtualization, or management software markets

  • Previous experience with managing multiple projects at the same time

  • Previously played an active role in a successful agile environment

  • Masters or MBA required
