Job DescriptionSecurity architect will serve as a subject matter expert in the development and improvement of current and new security solutions. They will enforce and help establish information security and control policies, procedures, and standards. Perform risk assessments of systems, applications and networks to identify weaknesses and ensure effectiveness of internal controls in reducing risk to information systems. Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies and enhances the enterprise risk mitigation stance. Collaborate with a core functional team of IS professionals to deliver on run-the-business operations and projects, while coach and guide junior peers in their professional development. He/she will assist respective leadership and colleagues with understanding and implementing technical and process standards. Role:Serves as a security subject matter expert as part of an in house, on-shore, and off-shore security architecture team responsible for securing the enterprise information and systems by determining security requirements across enterprise projects; planning, designing, and documenting security systems; preparing security standards, policies, and procedures. Possess deep technical understanding and demonstrated ability to apply security related knowledge for practical and timely outcomes. Demonstrate customer-oriented service excellence principal while remaining mission focused. Participate in security review of project proposals and assessment of possible M&A candidate companies. Security Architect Job Duties:Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analysis and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.Plans security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices; designs public key infrastructures (PKIs), including use of certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures as well as hardware and software; adhering to industry standards.Identifying and reviewing security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements.Prepares system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Additional duties as determined by Baylor Scott & White Health management team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Analytical skills with sound and logical problem-solving capabilities and demonstrated experience. Critical thinking and strong logic skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skill; demonstrated ability to explain complex concepts to others in layman terms. Ability to work with others in teams and share analysis and collaborate well on problems. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure. Self-motivated to identify and resolve issues. Ability to work on a variety of incident, work assignments or projects simultaneously. Deep technical knowledge of security best practices and framework. Has knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, attacks, hacking, risk analysis, vulnerability mitigation and general remediation.Qualifications:BS in computer science, computer engineering or other technical degree6+ years broad technical architectural experience in one or more below:o Security engineeringo Network engineeringo System administrationo Application developmento Cloud administration and/or engineeringo Identity and Access managemento Data management and administrationExperience with solutions architecture and security frameworksCISSP preferred
