TITLE : Senior Associate (Mercer (US) Inc. – Dallas, TX) DUTIES: Design, manage, execute and support client projects that focus on executive compensation topics. Direct, perform and analyze industry and financial research to understand and provide guidance on regulatory environment, market competitors, financial performance, talent management trends, and pay practice and policies. Analyze, benchmark, and design compensation, incentive and benefits programs that reinforce the clients’ strategic objectives. Design, analyze, implement, and support financial performance measurement and target-setting systems to support these compensation projects. Prepare project charts and templates using project management tools, estimate hours for the project team, and prepare timelines for project milestones. Ensure projects adhere to budget. Prioritize project activities to manage the workload and meet project deadlines. Write engagement letters including project steps for senior consultants’ review. Conduct client interviews, facilitate focus groups, and deliver training. Responsible for the technical part of client presentations to HR and management and for ongoing client relationships. Write project proposals and answer to Requests for Proposals. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering (any), or related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or as an Executive Compensation Consultant, Employee Compensation Consultant, Survey Administrator, Assistant Survey Administrator, or a related position. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with: financial statement analytics including Economatica; linking variable compensation to business strategy on Annual Incentive Plan, Long Term Incentives, and Sales Effectiveness; conducting business directly with local and international diverse Board of Directors; understanding accounting principles and mechanics for the different vehicles in long-term incentive plans including stock options, stock grants, performance awards, and phantom programs; severance programs design and calculation; evaluating job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary; ensuring company compliance with reporting requirements; preparing occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales; providing advice on the resolution of classification and salary complaints; and preparing reports, including organization and flow charts, and career path reports to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in a stated field plus two (2) years of experience in the above. The employer will accept pre- or post-Master’s degree experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. 10% travel required to various and unanticipated client sites nationally and internationally.
