About the opportunity:
The real estate market is undergoing a significant and exciting change – driven by data and technology. This person will be part of an engineering Agile team responsible for building products for the Commercial Property Valuations Business Domain. The team will consist of other front end, backend, data and devops engineers.
This person will partner with Research / Product / Business Partners / End Customers to help conceptualize as well as build prototypes for new business intent / ideas. They will help refine new business intent into epics / stories, partner in defining the scope of the stories and most importantly deliver them successfully with adequate automated tests / CICD / documentation / demos / production deployments.
More about the project:
We build technology products for our appraisers who perform commercial property valuations. The current process depends heavily on excel and word. Our team started a couple of weeks back and is focused on building the next generation of a Valuation Engine. This involves Machine learning models, OCR, Natural Language Processing, Mobile apps, Map based searches, User Interface which can aid building an interactive appraisal report etc.
What we work on:
Building/packaging/deploying Micro Services, Async event consumers
Building Angular/Vue based single page web apps
Leveraging various AWS/ Azure based cloud services
Understanding the big picture in terms of both end state architecture and business value of the products the team is building
Being an active contributor to the Agile teams success by demonstrating the ability and ownership to pull stories to work on and deliver them successfully with high quality
Logging and Monitoring first in everything we build
Working closely with Test Engineers and rallying the team to ensure sound rollout of product releases
Performing complex engineering activities for performance tuning and monitoring.
Proactive monitoring of applications and services
Identifying gaps and taking actions to completion
What we’re looking for:
BS or master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Self-motivated and curious
Ability to understand the big picture in terms of both end state architecture and business value of products
Passion for developing products that blend seamlessly with customer workflows
A desire to work in a super friendly, collaborative, and transparent work environment, where team work is essential
