CBRE Software Engineering Manager in Dallas, Texas

ROLE:We’re looking for a technology manager with 3+ years of technical leadership and people management experience to support a diverse portfolio of applications. This person would grow and coach our development team as well as implement agile practices for both software development and support.

Our team handles applications used by CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) division. GWS provides Fortune Global 1,000 companies with services including facilities management, project management, advisory & transaction services, and consulting.


  • Leading a six-person .NET software engineering team.

  • Serving as liaison between Digital & Technology and multiple business groups throughout CBRE.

  • Mentoring and coaching team members, including code reviews, 1:1 coaching sessions with engineers, and investment in your team's technical and personal growth.

  • Participating in technology architecture discussions for product development and advocating best practices (CI, testing, operational efficiency, etc.)

  • Helping design and implement new features/applications based on industry standards.

  • Identifying and addressing bugs/enhancements/new features/needed refactoring.

  • Providing upper tier support for end users. Troubleshooting technical problems such as application performance issues. Gathering support metrics to identify trends that warrant attention.

  • Working with vendors to resolve issues and manage product lifecycles for several third-party SaaS solutions that we support.

  • 6-10 years of relevant technical experience.

  • 3+ years leading people

  • 4 - 7 years of software engineering experience, with a primary focus on Microsoft technology stack.

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.

  • Strong background in agile methodologies. Certification from at least one major agile organization preferred. Prefer experience with agile practices beyond software engineering.

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to describe technical issues for non-technical stakeholders and make persuasive arguments based on data.

  • Basic financial management including budgeting, forecasting, project costing, and procurement.
