You will received on the job training and take part in a structured Training & Development Programme designed to give the skills and competencies required for future graduate roles.
As a Credit Risk Placement Student you willbe an integral member of the Team and will benefit from wide exposure across Cummins.The role will involve dealing with many different groups and individuals both internal and external to Cummins Ltd. The successful candidate will gain experience in the day to day running of the global credit risk department including month end activities, Six Sigma, financial analysis, management reporting, business partnering, plus many more.
Prepares business unit credit reporting, planning, and forecasting.
Performs credit-worthiness reviews on new and existing accounts, mitigating risk to the business.
Analyses credit exposures.
Prepares metrics analysis and consolidated credit reporting, as well as ad hoc credit analysis and reports to the business unit.
Develops an understanding of trade finance and credit management to support the business.
Ensures credit activities are in line with corporate credit policies, and are Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) compliant.
Participates in working capital initiatives to drive Corporate metrics
Active involvement and business partner support.
Represent the function when required to do so either with other parts of the organization or at various functions or events
Support for the scoping and completion of improvement projects (including 6 Sigma framework)
Studying towards a degree in Accounting and Finance, Economics or Business discipline.
Fast learner and willing to take on new challenges.
Attention to detail.
Strong team-working skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
The role will provide excellent experience for your CV and an introduction to a Credit Risk role in industry. A mentor will be there to guide you through your placement year. The following training will be provided;
Training in Corporate systems such as Oracle, and familiarisation with other business software (such as Microsoft Office)
Coaching to enable the development of other business skills.
4 x 1 day workshops through an external training provider: Adapting to Professional Environments, Effective Communication and Presentation Skills, Team Work, Customer Care.
