Description
At Cummins we recognise that having experience of the working world during your university degree provides a key insight to the practical application of your learning. We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole. You will take part in a structured Training & Development Programme designed to give the skills and competencies required for future graduate roles.
Support Implementation Coordinators and Project Managers with all aspects of Project Management from multiple global engineering platforms
Maintain, track, and update web-based project management database. As the database administrator, this involves working closely with Technical Leads and Project Managers to drive the process and data management forward
Lead a 6 Sigma project to improve current product quality processes
Organise and facilitate global meetings to update business leaders on project progress
Create and maintain timing plans using MS Project to ensure that tasks are completed within the required timeline
Excel and Minitab data analysis
Participate in community engagement as part of Cummins commitment to Corporate Responsibility
Qualifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Management, Project Management or a related subject required.
Undergraduate in a Project Management / Business discipline
Self-motivated and confident to work independently
Able to define and solve problems in a disciplined approach
Active participation and contribution as a team member, including strong cross-functional communication skills
Proactive time management and prioritisation of work tasks
Basic computer skills – MS Office
The role will provide excellent experience for your CV and an introduction to a business role in industry.
A mentor will be there to guide and coach you through your placement year.
The following training will be provided:
Training and familiarisation with business software
4 full day workshops through an external training provider: Adapting to Professional Environments, Effective Communication and Presentation Skills, Teamwork, Customer Care
