Placement - Test Technology Engineer (Facilities)

We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole. You will received on the job training and take part in a structured Training & Development Programme designed to give the skills and competencies required for future graduate roles.
Working under the guidance of the senior engineer / supervisor the placement engineer will work as part of a team on Development test cell improvement at the Daventry site.
Working in a cross functional team with strong links to Performance, Mechanical Development and Gas group.
The placement will involve mechanical and electrical systems currently in place as well as driving the definition and involvement in upgrades and cell improvements, including fuel systems, after-treatment or data acquisition.
You will be required to troubleshoot problems and drive solutions through liaison with the group’s customers and project work ensuring good outcomes whilst ensuring the least possible downtime to the cell operation.
College, university - Studying towards a degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Controls/ Instrumentation engineering or a related subject required.
Self-motivated and able to manage own projects.
Ability to work and communicate with cross-functional groups.
Practical approach to support technical investigation and evaluation.
A sound understanding of Engineering principles and calculations, with the ability to apply them.
The role will provide excellent experience for your CV and an introduction to a Test Engineering role in industry. A mentor will be there to guide you through your placement year. The following training will be provided;
Training in Corporate systems such as Oracle, Ariba and familiarisation with other business software (such as Calterm III, Test cell software like AVL Puma and CyFlex, etc)
Coaching to enable the development of other business skills.
4 x 1 day workshops through an external training provider: Adapting to Professional Environments, Effective Communication and Presentation Skills, Team Work, Customer Care.

Test cell measurement equipment & systems
IMechE mentor provided to work towards professional status via MPDS scheme.
