This is an exciting opportunity in Daventry for a Senior Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • You will work across functions to assist in the areas of new supplier nomination, supplier capability analysis, component price analysis, part approval and order fulfilment.

  • Responding to tight deadlines you will assess and develop current and prospective supplier readiness in new genset technology areas.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new component supplier quality risk assessments, and leading medium to high-risk APQP projects. You will conduct onsite Supplier Reviews and Level 5 PPAPs as required ensuring approved parts are available for all engine and genset builds on time.

  • You will participate and provide input into Zero Defect Mentality (ZDM) and participate and provide SQI input in Drawing Quality Reviews (DQRs) for all unique parts for assigned VPI programs. Ensure SR and/or PPAP approved parts are available for all engine and genset builds on time.

  • The role requires effective and collaborative communications between various stakeholders for new product introduction. Leading and communication the Supplier Quality requirements for each program.

  • This role is the VPI Lead SQIE for Power Systems Platform 2 and 3 products (38 – 91 L products) reporting to the Power Systems Supplier Quality Director and interfacing with the Power Systems VPI Purchasing leader.

  • The role will require supplier site auditing and improvement activity as required.

  • Experienced in collecting and understanding data and creating reports for senior management.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • You will demonstrate a high-level knowledge of Quality tools and processes, including 8D, PPAP, APQP, DFMEA and engineering prints.

  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills, in order to manage extremely challenging deadlines for parts approval and order fulfilment.

  • 6 Sigma experience and knowledge of formal project management methodologies.

  • Advanced Excel user.

  • Fluent English language, with an ability to interpret and document highly-technical data, and to accurately report parts status.

  • Whilst working in a highly collaborative global Quality organisation, you will be capable of managing your own time, priorities and escalations in order to fulfil the deadlines mandated by production.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • University degree in Engineering-related discipline, or

  • HNC / HND qualification, or

  • Equivalent vocational experience

Compensation and Benefits

  • £37,351 to £45,650
