Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

This position will make use of most of the Oracle Cloud offerings along with popular industry products to produce exciting demonstrations that prove the power of Oracle software. Ideal candidates will be familiar with Oracle products and know a host of industry tools from an architectural and development point of view; they will love technology, exploring new ideas and methods, and are energized by new, state-of-the-art challenges.
Section One is looking for a talented Software Architect who can drive solutions to complex scenarios involving Oracle cloud products. The ideal candidate will work with storytellers, UX Designers, Imangineers, and Software Developers to create frictionless experiences for all users of our vast library of demonstrations. They will also drive system and product changes through a cohesive, holistic approach to our product usability. This team is the first one to see new products and so is in a unique position to influence future direction. Rapidly architect and create prototypes and demonstrations that can run on the Oracle Cloud platform
Define standard approaches to a fast-changing technical environment
Grasp complex architectures easily, be able to rationalize and simplify them
Maintain a user-centered design approach as you tackle complex design patterns
Balance great architecture and efficient development with business goals meeting tight deadlines
Collaborate with salespeople, product managers and internal Section One stakeholders to architect enterprise business scenarios, and then translate those architectures into compelling reproducible design patterns
Understand Oracle Cloud products and their road maps
Understand applicable industry products that can be utilized to enhance demonstrations
Understand the various roles users play when reviewing or utilizing Oracle Cloud products
Have a keen sense of modern architectural principles and best practices and be able to meld those, along with Oracle products, into a seamless, believable, and exciting demonstration
Help improve and standardize our software development practices
Be an evangelist for product changes that will improve the customer experience
At least 15 years in the software industry; at least 5 years in architecture; and at least 5 years in cloud technologies
At least a BS in computer science or (strongly) related area; prefer a graduate degree in a related area
Strong grasp of various cloud technologies:
o Data (Databases, big data, autonomous processing)
o Application development (Java, Mobile, Bots, APIs, Containers, Microservices, Messaging, etc.)
o Operational Tools (monitoring, performance analysis, analytics)
o Security (Identity Management, Compliance, Monitoring, SSO, Integration)
o Integration (Cloud, Data, IoT, APIs, Automation, SOA)
Clear understanding of industry technologies and trends
Professional level communication and presentation skills
Complete confidence in the ability to solve any (software) technical scenario
Flexibility in a quickly changing and agile environment
