Occidental is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Inventory & Warehouse Specialist at the South Curtis Ranch location in Midland, TX.

Essential Job Duties:

• Responsible for material inventory management, control, and replenishment with established critical stock, inventory target levels, and inventory turn targets for the region

• Support and execute logistic initiatives to optimize and improve inventory and material movements

• Establish and maintain open and effective communications between departments. Responsible for working with operations personnel and finance to accurately track and account for the movement of materials from inventory into fixed assets.

• Responsible for warehouse and yard organization/operation in a safe, effective, secure and controlled manner

• Serve as a subject matter expert on inventory and material related initiatives

• Support the management and planning of Oxy’s inventory requirements to balance investment and demand accounting for operation conditions, seasonal fluctuations and changing markets

• Organize periodic surplus stock sales. Provide regular reports on inventory values, stock turns and related metrics to supervisor and local contract proponents

• Support the coordination with proponent groups and finance to track and report on material refurbishment and scrap rates (i.e. OCTG, rods, valves, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, engineering, SCM or related field

• 2 plus years supply chain or relevant industry experience including exposure to the following:

  • Materials management and accounting principles

  • Oil and gas operations

• Strong action orientation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Adaptable and customer focused in a rapidly changing environment

• Ability to work well in a team environment across boundaries

• Ability to influence key stakeholders both up and down the organization

• Exhibit a high degree of ethics/integrity

• Ability to multitask/prioritize in a deadline environment

• Strong PC/Software skills
