* * *Position Summary:* · The Unit Coordinator performs clerical and receptionist duties in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Rose Medical Center. · The Unit Coordinator may rotate to other than his/her assigned department and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. · They will perform these duties in the care of geriatric, pediatric and adult populations. · The unit coordinator will prepare OR papers for the next day surgery, order paper stock for the OR and PACU/PHA. · The unit coordinator will stock the bedsides in PACU, assist with transporting patients in beds or wheelchairs, interact with the general population and assist them with questions and directions. · The unit coordinator also assists the RN with bedside care: delivering warm blankets, ice packs for joint surgery, assist with moving patients in bed, telephone duties and delivering and picking up lab specimens and pharmacy items. * **Position Requirements:* *A. ** Licensure/Certification/Registration:*Current BLS certification through American Heart Association. *B. **Education and Training:*Graduate of Unit Secretary or medical terminology course preferred. *C. **Experience:*Acute care experience preferred. Unit secretary experience preferred. Experience with computers and medical terminology required. *D. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*Demonstrates good organizational skills. Knowledge of medical and technical terms to accurately transcribe physician orders and complete requisitions. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
  • Degree of Supervision Required:*Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

    • Orientation Period:*Minimum of two weeks contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by the Manager.
