Purpose:

The Head of Student Recruitment facilitates prospective students in the Middle East and Turkey through the application process for the Pearson Professional offerings. The Head of Student Recruitment will discover the needs and concerns of prospects, demonstrate how our programs can best meet those needs, and support the prospective students through the admissions process up to registration completion. The Head of Student Recruitment will work closely with all concerned to meet the needs of the prospective students and drive enrollments for each specific program.

Key Accountabilities:

Establish evidence-based enrolment targets and recruitment plans for each country and partner within the region, in line with Pearson Professional’s strategy to maximise recruitment from the region;

Deliver on enrolment targets agreed for the region on a yearly basis, and provide regular updates on progress, successes, risks and issues as required;

Support and monitor the performance of Pearson Professional’s partner recruitment efforts across the UAE, Middle East and Turkey region to encourage recruitment of students and undertake conversion activities such as attendance at agent exhibitions, counselling interviews and pre-departure briefings.

Support the identification and development of new institutional collaborations in the region in accordance with Pearson Professional’’s strategic plans, contributing to the achievement of student recruitment targets;

Engage with colleagues and partners to provide strategic and operational insight to the region to ensure optimized student experience, conversion and support meeting Pearson Professional’s student recruitment objectives;

To lead on the strategy for management of partners and agents for Middle East and Turkey, to maximise student recruitment.

Maintain regular contact with Pearson Professional’s alumni and provide support to the Development and Alumni Relations

Keep up-to-date with best practice, new initiatives and opportunities relating to this role and maintain a detailed overview of conversions relating to student recruitment;

Undertake administrative work including report writing and analysis, and the production of relevant statistical data in the main areas of activity including piple-line management, student applications and enrollments;

Contribute to the strategic planning of Pearson Professional’s student recruitment and the development and deployment of specific strategies designed supporting student recruitment

Lead on development of appropriate, country-specific best- practices and sales materials, including sales-scripts and email- templates, supporting student recruitment (drive conversions) and to build the Pearson Professional’s brand;

Ensure implementation Salesforce supporting student recruitment, provision of training and usage of best- practices and related materials;

Support development of marketing materials to support overall student recruitment;

Carry out any other duties, appropriate to the post, as may be reasonably requested by the Head of Pearson Professional.

Planning and organizing:

Plan and organise own and partner activities to ensure achievement of student recruitment targets

Plan and execute recruitment and business plan for geographical area. This should reference specialist market intelligence and include detailed timetabling and budget information.

Agree and deliver against marketing and recruitment targets for specified geographical area.

Provision of regular management information which will include monthly review against business plan, formal reporting and presentations to the Steering Commitee

Internal and External Relationships

Work closely with key stakeholders and students in the region, mainly enrollment and program advisors, supporting overall student recruitment

Provide specialist knowledge and guidance on matters relating to student recruitment in Middle East and Turkey

Develop a network of external contacts to contribute to specialist knowledge and best practice.

Qualifications

Competencies

Essential:

High level of oral and written communication skills with extensive experience of giving presentations in English.

Ability to establish and develop relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.

Ability to analyse and present data (including financial information) accurately.

Project management experience

Budget management experience

Desirable:

Arabic speaker and ability to speak other languages relevant to the region.

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential

:

Formal business or marketing qualification at undergraduate level

At least four years relevant experience in an international student recruitment role.

English Language qualification - IELTS Grade 6.5 with no band at less than 6.0 (or equivalent qualification)

Desirable:

Formal business or marketing qualification at postgraduate level

Previous Experience

Essential:

At least five years’ international student recruitment experience with a track record of delivering stretch targets

Experience of developing and implementing student recruitment plans to deliver results

Experience of working effectively with educational agents

Experience of establishing and developing relationships with institutional partners

Experience of working with Government and sponsoring agencies

Ability to interpret market intelligence and to act on it by developing effective strategies to recruit students

Knowledge of the competitor landscape for student recruitment

Understanding of cultural issues related to international students

Extensive presentation and public speaking experience

Commercial and business development skills

Experience in the development of printed and digital promotional material

Experience of co-ordinating student recruitment marketing activity including agent events, educational fairs, school and institutional events etc

Desirable:

Recruitment experience gained within a similar institution

Established student recruitment contacts and network within the UAE and wider MENA region

Experience of managing an team for a minimum of two years.

Experience of influencing senior representatives from both public and private sectors.

IT Literacy

Essential:

Excellent ICT skills, with recent frequent experience of word-processing; databases and excel.

Working knowledge of digital and social media channels

Desirable:

Experience working with Salesforce
