Technical Project Manager
Oracle IT Enterprise Applications PMO Partners with our customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to deliver projects with consistent results and in alignment with Oracle IT and Security standards. As a Technical Project Manager, you will apply engineering and program management skills working with various organizations such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and Oracle IT Engineering. A key aspect of your job is to work with executives across Oracle, able to influence and collaborate with technical teams, be seasoned at project management and mature with excellent communication skills.
Drive project excellence based on: Resources, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, and Innovation
Facilitate project communications vertically and horizontally in the organization to ensure proper visibility to status and progress
Identify & monitor both project and business risks to ensure risk response activities are highlighted/available
Bring discipline to process, support objectives, orchestrate delivery, and enable decision support information for management
Through leadership, collaboration, and continuous process improvement, we will continue to evolve and mature technical project management as a professional discipline at Oracle IT
Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing business conditions, ambiguous situations and directing changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms
A key skill would be to have seamless conversations with technical resources, architects, assist in architecting solutions and if needed, roll up sleeves and be able to code
Business analysis, documenting requirements, scope definition and manage business expectations, plan user acceptance and test cycles and defect management
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. The position is expected to be a leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. A BS or MS degree or equivalent experience that is relevant to functional area. Preference is for candidates with a minimum of seven years of project management experience with global engagements and 5 years of Program management that includes external vendor engagements. Experience with Scrum, agile practices, Jira, Confluence, Excel, PPT and Word is a must. Should be able to write Roadmap documents in a clear and concise manner.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like.
Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project specifications, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
