Job Summary

AECOM Ireland LTD is actively seeking an MEP Resident Engineer to join our MEP team based in Dublin. The MEP Resident Engineer will be working on a client site overseeing the delivery of an extension to the existing Operations & Controls Building in Dublin.

The successful MEP Resident Engineer would have a broad background in MEP Construction and ideally would have worked in a similar role at a Design Consultancy, although MEP Project Managers from M&E Contractors looking for a change in direction would also be considered.

You will ideally have a background within fitting and installation of Electrical and/or HVAC systems as well as extensive experience of managing an onsite team and proven experience of testing, witnessing and inspection, whilst also having experience of working directly with clients.

Minimum Requirements

  • To be responsible to the Employer’s Representative and supervise, under the directions of the Employer’s Representative, the construction, completion and maintenance of all works required as set out in the drawings and specifications and to ensure that they are executed fully in accordance with the Contract Documents

  • To report to the Employer’s Representative on all matters pertaining to the MEP works on site

  • To observe and implement all instructions issued by the Employer’s Representative

  • To ensure that events and parameters having contractual implications are properly recorded

  • To carry out baseline surveys prior to commencement of construction and check the Contractor’s setting-out during construction

  • To ensure that all materials used in the works are in accordance with the Specification

  • To draft change orders and to pass them to the Employer's Representative for approval if variations from the Contract Documents are considered necessary.

  • To examine methods proposed by the Contractor for executing the work and temporary works to ensure the safe and satisfactory execution of the permanent work.

  • To record and check the progress of the work against the programme including regular monthly updating of the programme.

  • To be fully familiar with all the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Legalisation including the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.

  • To attend progress meetings on site with the Employer’s Representative, the Contractors and others usually on a fortnightly basis.

  • To carry out any other duties allocated by the Employer’s Representative,

  • Prepare weekly progress reports including workmanship, health & safety, performance of contractor, information required for review, site observations, etc.

  • Witness commissioning of all M&E systems.
