Summary The Client Director is responsible for the overall strategic results on assigned accounts, as well as the strategic coordination of client marketing and servicing. Assigned to the largest and most complex clients within the agency, the Director will work closely with producers and clients to develop effective business programs. This role is responsible for retention and expansion of an assigned book of business and participation in the procurement of new business. This is accomplished through proactive client service, managing renewals/marketing, and business development initiatives. The Client Director will also be responsible for achieving an annual sales goal. Essential Functions PROACTIVE CLIENT SERVICE Works directly with the senior level client staff to establish short- and long-term commercial lines strategy. Partner with vendors and carriers to design and deliver commercial lines products and services. Develop effective business relationships with assigned clients through in-person visits, entertainment opportunities, telephone and electronic contact at multiple levels within client organization. Provide high level financial, contract and/or administrative analysis Ensure client service needs are met through coordination and review of work product and mentorship of assigned client service team Review loss summary with client to pro-actively manage losses Manage client stewardship plan with corresponding activities and deliverables. Coordinate workflow within client service team to ensure timely response to all client inquiries. Communicate and educate the client on changes within our industry and how they could impact their business Performance Outcomes Favorable client and colleague feedback Accurate and timely deliverables Retention goal of 94% 2. MANAGING CLIENT RENEWALS/MARKETING Manage client renewal and marketing process, including negotiation of rates with carriers and presenting alternative options when appropriate. Analyze renewal quotes and industry trends to make appropriate renewal recommendations. Participate in discussions on renewal strategy and gather renewal information from client. Prepare and participate in presenting proposal to client and in team selling with other MMA disciplines. Coordinate team meetings to discuss renewal marketing strategy with team. Establish and consistently maintain effective and positive working relationships with associates and clients Be available as a resource to team members. Field questions and respond to issues on a timely basis (voice mail, e-mail and personal). Provide leadership in practice group and team interactions Create learning opportunities for team mates and provide ongoing constructive feedback. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES (Producer Initiated Business Opportunities) Prospects Assist producer with the pre-qualification of an account along with gathering information for submission Discuss market strategy with team and oversee submission process; review & negotiate quotations and make placement recommendation in collaboration with producer and marketer. Prepare and participate in presenting proposal to client and in team selling with other MMA disciplines. Coordinate coverage placement including binders, invoices, etc. Coordinate policy delivery process; complete and review coverage checklist with client. Existing Clients Pursue opportunities to round out existing client programs with additional and/or increased lines of coverage. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES NECESSARY TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ROLE Any other duties that may be assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; in-depth working knowledge of insurance with 7+ years of industry experience and demonstrated relationship management skills with 5+ years of client management responsibilities. Experience establishing strategy and direction for business programs. Ability to coordinate multiple projects while ensuring timely and accurate client deliverables, with effective problem solving and resolution skills. Strong organizational, project planning and management, analytical and multi-tasking skills. Excellent client relationship building and presentation skills.
