Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

The Oracle Food & Beverage Global Business Unit is seeking a Cloud SRE Director to lead a team that will solve complex problems related to cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. The right candidate will have experience with designing, writing, and deploying software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Cloud products and services. The candidate must be able to design, build, and maintain shared infrastructure and tools that will be used for cross-service management, monitoring, and deployment. In addition, the ability to design and develop architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems will be an important function of the role.
Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning
Use basic knowledge of cloud architecture to perform tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing cloud infrastructure and tools according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing service architecture
Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture
Implement automation and orchestration for manual processes required to operate and deploy cloud services
Providing support during various operations such as deployment and general production
Contribute to the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance
10 years of proven experience in Cloud services
5 years managing a team with relevant experience
Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
Strong experience with SQL
Experience implementing, supporting, and building integrations with tools like Prometheus
A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available Cloud service
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Engineering
